In EndNote why can't I change an incorrect journal title?

Answer

Sometimes a journal title can be in the wrong case  (say ALL-CAPS) - but it cannot be corrected by editing the EndNote reference. This is due a corruption in the Journals Term List.

To fix:

In EndNote, go to menu - Library: Open Term Lists: Journals Terms List

Select the relevant journal(s) and click Delete Term.

Note:
If more than one title is affected the whole term list may have corrupted. In this case highlight the first journal, and press [Ctrl]+A on the keyboard to highlight all the terms (on a Mac, this would be +A) and then click Delete Term. This will reset the whole library term list and allow editing on all titles.
