I’ve downloaded EndNote 20. Why can’t I set up syncing?

Clarivate set a January 1 2024 deadline for EndNote 20 users to set up an account with EndNote Online. It's this account that allows syncing. If you didn’t register for the online account before this, or you downloaded EndNote 20 after January 1st, you will need to upgrade to EndNote 21 via Massey.
If required you should make physical backups of your EndNote library by creating a compressed library file:
1. Open your library in EndNote.
2. From the "File" menu, select "Compress Library (. enlx)" and then "Next" (on a Mac click "OK").
3. Use the file dialog box to save the EndNote Compressed Library (filename. enlx).
