We strongly recommend saving EndNote libraries to a local drive. See Are EndNote and OneDrive (and the cloud in general) compatible with each other?
The newer macOS from Sierra and High Sierra onwards automatically sync the Desktop and Documents folders with iCloud. Follow the steps below to turn off this feature.
1. Click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your macOS's screen
2. Select System Preferences... from the dropdown menu.
3. Click on iCloud in the Preferences window.
4. Click on Options next to iCloud Drive.
5. Un-tick the box next to Desktop & Documents Folders.
6. Click on Done in the bottom right corner of the window.
